Describe A Day Spent By The River Or By The Sea

As usual, the nearer the rainy season draws on, the hotter it becomes. I cannot bear the suffocating and stifling heat of these days. So last Sunday I decided to spend my holiday at Vung Tau seaside with my friends.

In the early morning from HCM city, we got there by bus. On the way to Vung Tau resort, we met a lot of our friends, who also went there to escape from the terrible heat of a crowded city. We reached Vung Tau beach only to find that it had been packed with people. Although the beach was crammed with people, we still felt more relaxed by the fresh morning air coming in from the open sea.

Vivid scenery was unfolding itself before us: On the beach children were running here and there, gathering choice pebbles, shells and seaweeds. Others were busy digging sand to catch little crabs which in no time darted into their sand holes. Groups of holiday-makers were sitting under large beach umbrellas, eating crabs and clams while others in their bathing-costumes were sunbathing on the beach or swimming in the sea. We too could not resist the temptation to take off our clothes and put on our swimming costumes and then plunged into the sea. How delighted we were when we dived down into the fresh cool water and took a long leisurely swim. The splash of waves against the rocks, the merry shouting and laughter of holiday-makers created the liveliest scenery we have ever seen.

At eleven o’clock we stopped swimming and chose a shady spot on the seashore and unpacked our hampers. Swimming brought good appetite to us. We devoured our home made lunch and then lay down on the sand. We took a nap till 1:30. In the afternoon we went for a long walk along the seashore, took a lot of photographs and enjoyed some seafoods. At 5:00 we got on a bus to come back home.

A holiday by the sea brought us strength and pleasure after months of hard work.
